Race-Keeper Comparo Software – Power of Synchronized Video and Data

Submitted by trivinci on Mon, 12/08/2008 - 03:05.

Once you've captured your outings with Race-Keeper, you've got piles of data - multiple streams of high-res video, audio, GPS data and sensor readings. Then what?

Play your outings using Race-Keeper Comparo - our software race analysis software - designed with racers in mind, not race engineers. Race-Keeper Comparo takes all of those data sources and presents them to you as a combined experience. You can see all your data, and search through it - with the click of a button.

For the latest version of our software, click here for Race-Keeper Comparo.

This is just the basics, however. What really makes Comparo worthy of its name is the ability to view two outings or laps at once, tied to each other through their GPS data. Seek on a trace or on the map, or even on the video, and both outings will seek to the same point in space. You can instantly compare your braking points and apexes, then play the video through and see exactly what you did differently to gain that extra tenth of a second.

Adding CAN/OBD-II Data to Race-Keeper

Submitted by trivinci on Tue, 12/02/2008 - 01:19.

A very quick way to get more data from your vehicle without having to install discrete sensors is to plug into the OBD (on-board diagnostics) port on your vehicle.

The data channels that are available on this port vary between manufacturers but all OBD-II ports support channels such as speed, rpm, throttle position, coolant temperature, intake manifold pressure etc.

Speed data from the OBD-II port is more accurate than GPS speed so whenever OBD-II speed is available, Race-Keeper Comparo uses OBD-II speed data for MPH.
